Job Type Full-timeDescriptionJob Summary:VCS is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Worship Coach & AVL Specialist. This year-round, full-time position will be led by someone who can teach, disciple, and raise up future worship leaders and production team members by preparing student-led music and production for all our chapel experiences, shows, and events (Grade K-12). There would be 2-3 classes to teach students in preparation to worship lead or serve in production. Additionally, 50% of this role oversees campus production operations at VCS, supporting production faculty and staff, managing contractor scheduling (AVL production crew), and technical aspects of campus production operations to include upkeep and installation of equipment as well as live events/shows/chapel services. (40+ events per school year). The Worship Coach and AVL Specialist is a proven worship leader, production manager, trainer, innovator, and experienced operator in at least one major production discipline. Role and Responsibilities:
  • Display the ability to connect Biblical theology to music and production for K-12th graders
  • Provide spiritual and musical discipleship and mentoring of the worship team students
  • Co-lead Ministry Development Course's Teams: Valley Worship and Production Team using the latest research, production technology, and best practices. (HS and JH Min Dev)
  • Co-lead all K-12 weekly chapels (72 K-8 chapels, 36 9th-12th chapels)
  • Create, schedule, organize, train, direct, operate all audio/media/production needs between all campuses with events of over 400 choir members, 50-piece symphony orchestras, modern worship band setups, and the like
  • Be a visionary for the worship and performing arts
  • Successfully grow all worship and production programs
  • Responsible for the audio/visual equipment, its safety, and regulation of its use
  • Collaborate with Supervising Teacher to follow prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Administrator/Principal
  • Collaborate with Fine Arts Director, Spiritual Life Director, Team Fine Arts, and Campus Principals
  • Direct or moderate at least one extra-curricular activity as assigned
  • Adhere to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes, and codes
  • Performs other related assigned duties
RequirementsQualifications and Skills:
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony among others
  • Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with our school
  • Agree to uphold Valley Christian's Statement of Faith
  • Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Planning Center Online, Pro-Presenter, and additional related software
  • Ability to multi-task with organization
  • Must be a strong independent worker
  • Must have impeccable interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with outside vendors and businesses
  • Demonstrate broad technical competency across production disciplines
  • Skilled in basic rigging practices
  • Working knowledge of power for production systems
Education and Experience:
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in music (any specialization), theatre, biblical studies, worship arts or education (B.M., B.F.A.,B.A.,B.S., B.Ed.)
  • Experience leading teams of staff, contractors, and/or volunteers in executing live production events and chapels
  • Experience with planning and producing live audio shows with a large number (50+) of inputs and multiple outputs (including using powered speakers and PA systems), digital mixing consoles (preferably Behringer and DiGiCo), configuration of in-ear monitoring systems (preferably experience with Klang), DMX lighting programming (preferably Grand MA), Dante routing and networking, video switching and broadcasting systems (preferably Resi), and media presentation software (ProPresenter 7)
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • 3+ years experience in live production environments
Physical Requirements:
  • Use a computer (visual and keyboarding) for long periods of time
  • Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 50% of the time
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story)
  • Use of hands, fingers, arms to reach, grip and maneuver objects
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)
  • Work in noisy and crowded school environment
  • Will be required to work some evenings and weekends
  • Will be required to work in areas of light to heavy noise levels daily
  • Frequent walking throughout the campus
  • Must be able to travel in state and out of state
