Summary
Provides prescribed wound medical treatment and personal care services to patients by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the determination of nursing care needs based upon collection and interpretation of data relevant t the health status of a client. Provides daily wound and skin treatments to all residents that meet criteria for wound nurse practitioner.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. Communicates with family members regarding care given to residents.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Prepares equipment and aids Physical during treatment and examination of patient.
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of client.
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patients' condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to defect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Receives and transcribes physician's orders, written and verbal.
- Documents in patients' chart according to nursing protocol and facility policy.
- Communicates patient appointments to facility staff responsible for arranging transportation.
- Collects specimens form clients for testing at lab.
- Cleans & disinfects equipment such as suction machines, medicine carts, etc.
- Expereince with infection prevention and wound treatement protocol
Rotating Saturdays, Sundays always off
