The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently looking for part-time, temporary servers to assist in the WVSOM Student Center and O'Cafe for small to large events as needed. This position is a temporary position with a pay of $25 per hour, up to 37.5 hours per week as needed or requested; no benefits.Review of applications will begin immediately upon receipt. Candidates are subject to employment and credential verification, reference and background checks.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities* Position would deliver, set up, serve, and cleanup catered events.* Maintain on time delivery schedule for catered events.* Prepare and mix ingredients as requested.* Maintain food service area and assist the Director and Assistant Director as needed.* Ensure proper storage of leftover food items.* Maintain a clean sanitary workplace in accordance with county, state, and federal regulations.* Performs related duties as assigned or as directed.Percentage 100Education/KnowledgeMinimum Education High School or GED Required Licenses/CertificationThis position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus at least one year of recent and related experience, though a combination of education and experience may be considered. Position also requires the obtainment of a WV food handler's permit.Skills Required* Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of individuals;* Ability to use and operate commercial kitchen equipment;* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;* Excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad and diverse group of individuals;* Ability to learn and/or operate a cash register;* Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise judgment;* Ability to work evenings and weekends.* Job duties are performed in a standard work environment and require bending, stooping, standing, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Required ExperienceType of experience Needed Recent and relevant experience Amount of Experience Needed (Months/Years) Over 6, up to 12 months
