POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Y Reader Summer Assistant: main focus will be assisting the program director with the Y Reader's Summer Program and the Y Achievers Program. They will manage and administer youth and community projects. Provide a safe environment for youth ages 8-19Organized and plan college tours for studentsInteract and relate with youth and serve as a positive role modelWork as a team with other group leaders and instructorsAssist Program Director with various college readiness workshops: resume writing, professional writing skills, interview skills, SAT/ACT prep and math clustersAssist with daily set-up, daily clean up for the Y Readers Summer program. Monitor the students reading progressCarry out the goals, themes, and schedule of the program to provide a consistent and high-quality experienceSupervise and participate with groups of youth in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including swimming, games, arts/crafts, field trips and moreOther duties as assignedLEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Positive people skills; strong verbal and writing skills
- One year of experience working with youth/adolescents
- Candidate must obtain a clear State Police, Childline, and FBI clearance
