SUMMARY: A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by receiving and/or pulling product from inventory; Staging/loading finished goods for shipment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Forklift Operation
- Unload Rail Cars
- Load/Unload Trucks
- Yard Maintenance/Housekeeping as required
- Compliance with all safety procedures and use of PPE
- Inventory Control participation and compliance
- Receive, Process, and Ship product safely, accurate and efficiently
- Complete all job tasks in a timely fashion, prioritized to meet customer delivery expectations
- Maintain a clean, safe work area
- Additional duties as assigned
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in scheduled cycle & spot counts as needed.
- Assist in coaching new hires during the on-boarding process
- Promote and demonstrate Sherwood Culture. (RESPECT)
- Comply with all company attendance, PTO and HR policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid Communication Skills (both verbal & written)
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication)
- Basic computer skills (Preferred)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals
- Ability to follow company directives and instruction
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather conditions
- Ability to bend, twist and stand for long periods of time
This is a second shift position starting at 1:00pm.
