Job Summary:

The Yard Lift Operator adds value by transporting material to and from machinery and kilns for continued production.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Safety (strictly enforced). Mandatory attendance of all assigned safety training and adherence to all safety policies and practices.

* Ability to pay close attention to detail.

* Ability to read ruler and write measurements.

* Complete Forklift Inspection Checklist

* Ability to troubleshoot machinery in order to reduce downtime.

* Learn quality aspect of product in order to reduce waste.

* Ability to work in a teamwork setting.

* Ability to work with little to no supervision.

* Ability to safely use Forklift to move lumber packs, unload trucks, and lay cross ties according to specs.

* Ability to use SAP scan gun

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED required.

* Prior forklift operation experience required. Diesel forklift experience a plus

Physical Demands:

* Ability to lift up to 80 lbs frequently

* Regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.

* Regularly bend wrists.

* Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, and turning.

* Occasional pushing/holding back material

* Frequently required to stand (up to 6 hours) and walk.

* Frequently required to sit up to 8 hours.

* Exposure to heat and cold extremes at times. Noise level is moderate.

* Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc)
