JOB TITLE: Yard Maintenance REPORTS TO: Manager Yard Maintenance FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Ag exempt FUNCTION: Performs welding for maintenance and repair of feedlot pens, gates, rails, etc... ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Identifies/prioritizes necessary repairs through communication with management and review of job requests.
- Utilizes cutting torch, wire feed welder, and arc welder to repair gates, pipe fence, and other equipment.
- Ensures operation of welding truck by performing routine service and scheduling maintenance and repair.
- Maintains work area by putting away tools, removing scrap metal, cleaning, and storing equipment.
- Inventories tools and other welding supplies by physically counting tools supplied in shop and welding truck regularly; returns tools to their proper storage area after use.
- May participate in yard construction, renovation, and replacement projects.
- Complies with all applicable safety rules and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using cutting torch, wire feed welder, MIG/Arc welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
