As one of the largest wholesale nursery suppliers in the west, we strive to be a leader in the industry.Job SummaryNorman?s Nursery is seeking an experienced operations yard manager with expertise in horticultural growing yards production, proven success with cultivating high-performing teams to achieve exceptional results.?Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage over 600 acres of nursery operations and over 200 employees, including coordination of staff and contractors, material, and equipment inventory.Directly supervises all aspects of production, day-to-day scheduling, planning, and staff supervision.Supervise propagation activities such as seed sowing, cutting, and transplanting while identifying and resolving issues, ensuring optimal quality.Develop and maintain production forecasts and budgets to ensure profitability and growth.Oversee the tracking and inventory of all plants, ensuring they are properly labeled and recorded in the system, and perform physical inventory of supplies, submitting orders to vendors as needed.Collaborate with various departments to assess and address plant needs for optimal growth.Manage the application of chemicals and fertilizers, including calculating product amounts and calibrating equipment.Select, train, and supervise crews, ensuring efficiency and high-quality performance in plant maintenance, production, and daily operations.Manage all aspects of workforce to include time and attendance processes using ADP, performance management, leave of absences, injuries, discipline, and training.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and safety.RequirementsRelevant experience in the agriculture industry, working in large yards.Minimum of 5 years supervisory experienceEfficiently and effectively able to manage large crew with a variety of trees and ornamentals.Bilingual in Spanish (A Plus)Plant ID KnowledgeKnowledge of pesticide application, storage, safety, experienceExperience with OSHA Safety and regulations.Knowledge of maintaining equipment, tools, and tractorsFamiliarity with California wage and hour laws.Experience with Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel.?Job Type: Full-time?Pay: From $90,000.00 per year?Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceHoliday Pay
