The Yard Operator is responsible for ensuring movement of trailers and inventory of product and equipment on storage trailers.Essential Responsibilities:Essential responsibilities of the Yard Operator include but are not limited to the following:Machine Operations:Ensures operation of the following machinery:* Forklift* Dolly* Yard Tractor (Must have valid State driver's license)* One Ton Truck (Must have valid State driver's license)Equipment Monitoring:Ensure proper monitoring of the following equipment:* Forklift* Dolly* Yard Tractor* One Ton TruckDuties:* Ensures storage trailers are in the proper location* Moves trailers to dock areas for loading and unloading purposes* Ensures all loads are secure* Ensures personnel are informed when a trailer is to be moved* Ensures all loads are sealed* Assists employees as needed* Ensures yard tractor and one ton truck are inspected and clean* Ensures correct inventory amounts of products on trailers* Conducts inspections of the trailers for contents, amounts and security* Ensures security of trailers* Ensures security of product and equipment* Conducts external physical inspections of the trailers* Ensures proper movement and storage location of trailers* Maintains work area for cleanliness* Assist in maintaining a safe work environmentKnowledge, Skills and Ability:* Basic literacy skills including ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, signage, warnings and understand basic math* Ability to communicate clearly using oral and written skills* Ability to find solutions for work-related problems* Ability to adapt to business requirements of external and internal customers* Ability to utilize technology for job function* Ensures accuracy of records* Understand and apply food safety policies, HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices and Personal Safety practices as they apply to the job functionPhysical Demands:* Physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 65 pounds* Physically capable of lifting trays of product weighing an average of 11 pounds frequently* Ability to manage trays of product weighing an average of 350 pounds with the use of a dolly* Physically able to bend, reach, stoop, push and pull as required in a production operation* Physically capable of standing for long periods of time* Physically capable of normal range of motion in all extremities* Physically capable of working in intense heat conditionsExpectations for Position:* Work variable hours including nights, weekends and holidays* Must have a valid Mississippi driver's license* Read and understand work schedule* Report to, begin and depart from work at scheduled times* Practice of company standards for food safety, legality, integrity, quality and customer serviceWe are proud to offer competitive compensation and benefit programs that include medical, dental, vision, flexible savings account, health savings account, 401K matching savings plan, employee assistance program, wellness programs, life insurance, AD&D insurance, disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, student loan counseling, employee referral program, paid time off, and more!
