Job Description:
The Salvage Yard Team Lead will work closely with the Salvage Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of the yard, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and safely. This includes supervising employees, managing inventory, and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors. The Team Lead will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsible for equipment and maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Salvage Yard Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the salvage yard, including receiving, sorting, and organizing salvaged parts.
- Supervise and train employees to ensure that they are following safety procedures and performing their job duties efficiently.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and implementing systems to track inventory levels.
- Purchase and price incoming inventory to ensure profitability and competitive pricing.
- Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors to encourage repeat business and maintain a positive reputation in the industry.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including answering questions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that all employees are adhering to environmental regulations.
- Assist in managing employee schedules and ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate for business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Salvage Yard Manager
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the salvage yard or related industry, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and their value.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery, including forklifts and cranes, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Yard Hours: Monday - Saturday (8am-5pm) 40 hour work week with possible overtime. Closed Sunday
