Description Union Pacific Railroad is looking for a talented paralegal student to assist the Law Department. The paralegal intern will assist other paralegals with review and analyses of documents, fact gathering and legal research, drafting legal documents, and other projects for Labor, Employment, Personal Injury, and Real Estate litigation, as well as regulatory and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have completed 2 years of paralegal studies by May 2025 and have strong writing and communication skills. The position will be administered as a year-round internship at Union Pacific's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The work schedule is flexible and can be designed to accommodate the course commitments of the successful candidate. A flexible work schedule includes up to 40 hours per week available during the summer months and an average of 15-20 hours per week available during the academic year. The estimated wage for this position is between $20.00-$26.00 per hour. Final rate of pay will be based on several factors including year of study, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Accountabilities
  • Learn and perform core department business group work tasks, processes, and customer services
  • Perform administrative support for department business group managers
  • Develop and execute project action plans and perform team assignments
  • Build and strengthen a network of professional contacts within departments and across the company
  • Assist with project management for various company initiatives and complete administrative tasks and special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Required
  • College credits equivalent to one year toward an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic organization, prioritization and time/project management skills

  • This position requires extended periods of sitting and extended hours in front of computer screens
  • Maintain concentration, focuses on tasks and can make timely decisions
