Job Description:
Job description: Yoga Facilitator

Hourly/Part-time/Non-exempt

Starting hourly rate range: $60.00-75.00 (depends on experience and credentials)

As a Yoga Facilitator, you'll have access to and training in our 5-step yoga “Recipe,” which helps connect people to their bodies and their breath, resulting in lower stress responses. Your main responsibility will be to lead 1:1 yoga sessions for autistic and neurodivergent/spicy people, many of whom are children, working closely with clients and their support person(s) to develop personalized yoga plans that meet their unique needs and goals. These sessions primarily take place in clients' homes, but may be at a local yoga facility if one is available and the client agrees. This role requires the ability to drive your own vehicle to and from each session, as well as the ability to document each session in writing in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience working with neurodivergent/spicy people, including children.

Essential Duties:

  • Designs individual YogAutism sessions in consultation with clients or their support network to meet client's goals and objectives. Gathers client information from sources such as case documentation, client observation, or interviews of client or family members.
  • Customizes sessions for specific client populations such as children, adults on the Autism spectrum, and parents/unpaid caregivers of Autistic children, and further refines sessions according to the needs of each client, employing modifications as needed.
  • Builds rapport with clients while conducting sessions. Observes and documents client reactions, progress, or other outcomes related to the session.
  • Writes updates, case summaries, or other reports related to individual clients or client groups. Communicates client assessment findings and recommendations in oral, written, audio, video, or other forms.
  • Confers with other professionals on the client's treatment team to develop, coordinate, or integrate treatment plans.
  • Conducts information sharing sessions such as in-service workshops for other professionals, potential client groups, or the general community.

Required Certifications, Experience and Abilities:

  • Valid certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) (minimum 200-hour certification).
  • Willingness to adopt a strengths-based approach to Autism, highlighting the student's strengths and interests rather than focusing on deficits and challenges.
  • Willingness to undergo training on Autism and YogAutism's Recipe.
  • Knowledge of yoga principles, techniques, and modifications.
  • Ability to create personalized yoga plans based on individual needs and goals.
  • Ability to work at least two hours per month (and up to many more, if you prefer).
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Excellent skills related to social perceptiveness and active listening.
  • Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Reliable transportation to get to and from client sessions.
