Who we are looking for:Are you the Young Adult Peer Mentor we have been looking for? JRI's Flexible Support Services program aims to help youth and families by allowing for their voice to be heard, empowering them through psychoeducation and education related to systems, enhancing relationships and family dynamics, advocacy, validation, and breaking negative stereotypes. Serving children and young adults through age 22 who present with mental health diagnoses, our staff support clients in improving their functioning within the home and community to avoid potential hospitalizations.JRI provides the training so that:
- YOU will utilize the wisdom of your experiences to support the growth of clients in ways that others can positively connect and learn from.
- YOU will work alongside Clinicians, Family Partners, and Therapeutic Support Specialists to support the provision of culturally competent, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment.
- YOU will work collaboratively with DMH- Department of Mental Health staff, helping your clients navigate the state system.

Requirements:
- Applicants must be a young adult who has personal experience living with and recovering from mental health needs, substance use, and/or traumatic life concerns which caused challenges in one or more areas of life.
- Applicants must have 2 years of experience as a Young Adult Peer Mentor, or have successfully completed an advanced peer to peer training program (such as Certified Peer Specialist training).
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma. Applicants with a Bachelor degree in a human services field are preferred.
- Applicant must be able to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Applicants must have access to reliable, insured vehicle and active driver's license.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
