Responsibilities**Overview:**With minimal direction and latitude for independent judgment, the Associate Director serves as a main point of contact for the University's student and young alumni fundraising strategies in direct support of our institutional priority to increase undergraduate alumni participation. As a member of the Class & Affinity team, the Associate Director will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Annual Giving Programs team to create and implement solicitation campaigns that support the strategic priorities of the department and ensure they are aligned closely with the engagement strategies defined by the Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement team. While keeping current with trends in the industry, this role oversees marketing strategy through a variety of channels including print, email, texting, social media, and crowdfunding to meet the overall development plan. To maintain continuity across units, he/she will partner with Eastman School of Music Advancement staff to coordinate student and young alumni solicitation strategies and marketing efforts.**Responsibilities:**+ Create and implement customized tactical strategies, and overall marketing plans and collateral for all young alumni (0-10 years out) solicitations and communications within Annual Giving Programs; including but not limited to schools/units/departments, the George Eastman Circle, Young Alumni Giving Societies, Rochester Loyal, and the 5 th and 10 th Reunions. Benchmark and develop relationships with peer institutions to consult on best practices for young alumni giving.+ Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with various University and campus partners who can provide information on current student and campus needs; strategize, implement, and communicate the needs to young alumni to increase support for the students and young alumni giving participation.Support and contribute to the overall Class and Affinity goals and program.+ Provide advice and guidance to the Alumni Relations team during the Senior Gift campaign to create a seamless experience for donors from their Senior Year through their transition to alumni. Establish goals, manage a fundraising challenge, partner with ARCE and the Assistant Director of Student and Young Alumni Giving to oversee senior gift volunteers, conduct training sessions, ensure stewardship for senior gift donors, and attend in-person donor/stewardship events.+ Initiate and/or strengthen relationships with young alumni with a focus on those who are celebrating a reunion. Recruit and manage 5 th and/or 10 th Reunion gift committees. Attend 5 th and 10 th Reunion events including but not limited to Meliora Weekend celebrations.+ Partner with the ARCE Student and Young Alumni Engagement team to develop and implement educational events for students (beyond the senior class) about philanthropy (i.e., I Heart UR, UR Home, Forever Rochester Week, etc.) and execute an annual Student Day of Giving on the River and Eastman campuses.Other duties as assigned.**Requirements:**+ Bachelor's degree required.+ or equivalent combination of education and experience required.+ Higher education experience preferred.+ Experience working with recent graduates and/or student leaders is preferred.+ Experience with marketing and fundraising required.+ Well-organized, possess excellent communication, analytical skills, and writing ability, as well as the ability to work within a complex organization is required.+ Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish objectives is required.+ Must be a self-starter and able to stay current on ever-changing technology, best practices in Advancement among peers and through the Council of Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and be knowledgeable about the best marketing strategies for this constituency.+ Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required.+ Must have strong relationship-building skills, able to interface with alumni, donors, volunteers, Advancement colleagues and leadership, and campus partners.+ Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) as well as Canva design platform is required.+ Some evening and weekend work is required.The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University's mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create - and Make the World Ever Better.
