POSITION SUMMARYYMCA Youth Basketball Gym Monitor provides support to Presidio's Youth Basketball League. The Gym Monitor will assist in building relationships with families and enforcing safety policies and procedures. This position is responsible for setting up the gym spaces for YBL teams' practices, equipment quality control and distribution, and ensuring the safety of participants within the Presidio Y's Main Post gym facility. Shifts are flexible and primarily during after-school hours, averaging 8-16 hours per week. Games will be on Saturdays and Sundays. Individuals hired for this position will work under the supervision of the Sports Coordinator, and will need to be flexible, willing to take initiative, be punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the whole Youth Basketball League season, from December to March. This role will require an average of 5 hours per week of training and prep work during the month of December. Salary Range: $18.67 to $19.50 per hourMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Must be highly motivated to provide quality youth sports experiences
- Must be a team player
- Experience working with youth and families
- Must be available some afterschool hours on weekdays, some weekends
- Current YMCA approved CPR and 1st Aid certification (can complete upon hire)
- Fingerprint background check clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise of youth basketball
- Bi-Lingual skills in English/Spanish, English/Cantonese, English/Mandarin strongly preferred
