Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service is a voluntary, not-for profit family counseling agency providing service since 1920 to those who live or work in the greater Scarsdale area. The mission of the Agency is to be a center for family growth and learning, a place where families, couples and individuals can find help with the normal problems of daily living, as well as crises; to enhance the functioning of the family and its individual members through family life education; to stimulate social thinking and action to better social conditions; and to cooperate with other organizations for this purpose.

?Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service (SFCS) is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate the youth activities of the Scarsdale Action for Youth or SAY Coalition, a community-based drug and alcohol prevention coalition. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with teens, age 14-18 years old, and assist them in executing their group goals and activities.
Key responsibilities:
Promote positive youth development and a substance free lifestyle.
Develop a plan for youth recruitment and leadership.
Schedule, supervise and facilitate youth prevention activities.
Deliver required prevention education and youth training.
Track program efforts for required data collection and reporting.
Assist with group communications including use of groups social media channel(s) and email communications.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers and community partners to implement prevention campaigns and programs.
Attend required training in substance use prevention best practices.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Experience working or volunteering with adolescents.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Benefits:
This is a non-exempt, 10-month, position with immediate availability.
Weekday afternoon and evening, with some occasional weekend requirements with advance notice. The position is ideal for a graduate student pursuing a career in social service, substance abuse prevention or mental health.
