PRIMARY OBJECTIVESThe Youth Ministry Coordinator supports the execution and administration of the Langley South Youth. This person works under the direction of the Langley Youth Pastors. The role is supportive in nature and can include a variety of tasks like preparation for special events, planningand executing weekly gatherings, managing operational details, and also has the opportunity for direct ministry and leadership of students.DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES Collaboration: Works cooperatively with others and follows through on assigned tasks. It's an all-hands-on-deck approach to ensure deliverables are completed on time. Works together effectively with interdependent goals and common values and norms to foster a best team environment. Thoroughness: Ensures that one's own work is complete and accurate. Follows up to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled. Able to plan ahead and be on top of timelines. Delivers an experience to the Village Youth volunteers, students, and families that is consistent with the Village standard of excellence. Flexible Thinking: Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively adapt to a variety of situations. People Focus: Intuitively sees the needs and concerns of others and responds. Collaborates well and has a servant attitude. Builds rapport with others and wins them over. Demonstrates a high Emotional Quotient (EQ) and the ability to read people.RESPONSIBILITIES Organizing operations of the Jr. & Sr. Youth programs including week night ministry and events. Weekly tasks like picking up supplies, overseeing set-up/tear down, overseeing a team of volunteers (Ie. Program Team, Hospitality Team). Working alongside the Youth Pastor for large-scale Youth and Family Ministry wide events like camps, retreats, and Church in the Park. Support of the mobile aspects of Village Youth. Production and/or worship leading experience a bonus, but not required. While executing many tasks, this role does so with the transformation of students' lives in the forefront. This person supports the mission of Village Youth and lives into the culture of play, pray, reach, and teach. Ensures that all responsibilities are completed in a purposeful, strategic, and focused manner that points people to Jesus. Acts as a servant by inviting, discipling, training, and equipping others to serve. Leads through example and commits to thanking at least one volunteer every week. Ensures all responsibilities are produced, promoted, and lead with a high level of innovation and excellence, honouring God at the highest level. Acts with a sense of ambitious urgency, ensuring all work is completed wisely and impactfully. Time is a gift from God. Maintains an openness to being a learner by committing to continuous self, spiritual, and professional development. Contributes to #BestTeam by participating in a joyful culture and working well with peers. Commits to thanking at least one volunteer on a weekly basis. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Standard of Conduct as outlined in the Village Staff Manual. KEY RESULTSGospel Students are known by a community that loves Jesus. The environments make space for students to encounter Jesus. Youth Leaders are known for their attitude toward serving the Mission  . Community Increase in volunteer team numbers. Volunteers are actively cared for, discipled, and known. Culture Creativity in execution of ministry in a way that engages the next generation. Pursues relationships with unchurched people - connecting with them and inviting them to be a part of the community. QUALIFICATIONS Philosophically aligned with Village Church's Mission, Focus, and strategy. Fulfills character qualifications as highlighted in 1 Timothy and Titus. Fulfill the duties required of Village Church members as outlined in the Ë This is Village Church' course. Pursues a deeper relationship with Christ and greater spiritual growth through prayer, the gospel, and community. Is a disciple. Demonstrated passion for students and building a team to see students become passionate followers of Jesus. Strong project, strategic, and planning management skills. Organized and can prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, flexible, humble, and coachable. WORK WEEK 16 hrs/week | Flexible, but must include Monday pm.
