DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor, you will plan, develop, direct, coordinate, and administer an integrated rehabilitative services program for court committed and adjudicated delinquent residents housed at LYDC. You will actively supervise staff who provide rehabilitative treatment, education, recreation, and social development programs. In this role, you will ensure the safety and security of staff and residents by maintaining order and discipline that employs the least restrictive intervention techniques. It is important to be a positive role model by providing guidance in social and emotional growth, values, and ideals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
* Loysville Youth Development Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Varying 8-hour shifts include 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with 1 evening shift per week, and 1 weekend per month. This may change based on operational needs.
* Overtime and travel as needed.
* Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $70,666 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor; or
* One year of professional counseling experience with delinquent, pre- delinquent, or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program, and a bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile delinquency or criminal justice; or
* An equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of professional counseling experience in the care, custody, supervision, activities, leadership or personal guidance of delinquent, pre- delinquent or socially maladjusted youth in an organized program.
Other Requirements:
* You must be willing to accept employment at Loysville Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Perry County.
* PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
* You must be able to perform essential job functions.

* This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
