We have 2 part-time positions available at this time!SUMMARY OF POSITION:Coordinates logistics, supplies, volunteers and at times provides leadership to Youth Outreach programs and events, including summer camp. Serves as assistant to the Youth Outreach Director in performing administrative duties and development of programs. Upholds and supports the vision and direction of the Youth Outreach Department.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Key Result Area #1: Programs and Services
  • Coordinates logistics, supplies, volunteers and at times provides leadership to the Youth Outreach programs
  • Creates, coordinates, attends and sometimes leads Youth Outreach programs
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with other supporting departments to accomplish common

  • Promotes and interacts with organizations, ministries and individuals about the UGM and Youth Outreach
Key Result Area #2: Staff and Volunteers
  • Knows volunteer application and training process and is trained to equip their volunteers for purposeful
  • Knows how to cast the vision of the Youth Outreach Department to volunteers
  • Oversees the progress of the volunteers' effectiveness and satisfaction in the prescribed volunteer position
  • Coordinates schedules for Youth Outreach volunteers
  • Regularly communicates with volunteers
  • Assists the Youth Outreach Director in interviewing Summer Camp
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, creates and facilitates training of volunteers
  • Provides personal support and encouragement to maintain communication with and buy-in of volunteers
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, operates and leads the recruitment process for staff and volunteers
Key Result Area #3: Financial, Administrative, Operations
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, develops, creates and updates manuals and processes for department
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, processes reimbursement requests, invoices, credit card receipts and other financial paperwork for Youth Outreach programs
  • Tracks and reports all Youth Outreach statistics
  • Provides administrative and on-site support to the Youth Outreach Director for summer camping
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, provides regular stories and updates to the Development Department
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, facilitates the operations of the Youth Outreach social media accounts
  • In partnership with the Youth Outreach Director, maintains, organizes operations and function of the Youth Outreach office and supplies
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Committed Christian, able and willing to model servant-leadership and interested in being part of a ministry for the poor, homeless, drug addicted and mentally ill. Grounded in the Christian faith as a mature, active member of the body of Christ. In accordance with Union Gospel Mission Statement of Purpose, Statement of Vision and Statement of Faith
  • Strong Interpersonal skills - exercise compassion and discernment while modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ
  • Able and willing, as a unified team member, to honor the leadership, chain of command, and standards and ministry objectives of Union Gospel Mission
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, UKG Human resources, Virtuous CRM); able to complete documents, reports and accurately record information. Willing to continue education as needed or required
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and instructional
  • Excellent administrative skills - highly organized and detail oriented
  • Enjoys behind the scenes work and can also lead from the front
  • Some experience in kids & youth ministry or similar field
  • Must have a teachable spirit and the ability manage multiple emotional and task related variables, listen, and make sound decisions in
  • alignment with UGM's purpose
  • Minimum ten years of sobriety, if in recovery
  • Insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable, model appropriate boundaries, and strong work ethic
  • Valid Washington or Idaho driver's license- required
  • CPR/First Aid certification - required - will provide training
  • Criminal background check clearance - required
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%
  • Work is primarily indoors and may require climbing three flights of stairs, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - Continuously

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in youth or similar ministry
  • Experience in coordinating events or programs
  • Experience in administration
  • 2+ year's prior related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
