Examples of Duties The Youth Program Assistant II will directly supervise the youth served by the Group Care Program; will implement a residential treatment program for the Group Home, which is operated by the Department; will operate the home assuring the health, safety, and well-being of the youth residing in the home using all health, fire, and sanitation standards set forth in the licensing standards; will develop and implement an individualized plan of care for each resident in the program, monitoring the progress of the plan of care and goals during the child's stay in the home.The employee in this full-time position must be flexible to change hours as needed. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school graduation and three years of experience working with emotionally or mentally handicapped clients with emphasis on behavioral management, preferably with one year of such experience being with children and youth; OR an associate degree in a human service field, and two years of experience working with emotionally or mentally handicapped clients with emphasis on behavioral management, preferably with one year of such experience being with children or youth; OR a four-year degree and one year of experience working with emotionally or mentally handicapped clients, with emphasis on behavioral management; OR a four-year degree in a human service field. General knowledge of behavioral, emotional and socioeconomic problems of children and their treatment is required. Ability to apply counseling techniques to problems in both individual and group sessions.
