Job Type Full-time Description Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is a fast-paced, community-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to fostering the integration of the low-income, Pan-Asian immigrant and refugee community into the United States. Established in 1981, CMAA has been a cornerstone of the Uptown community, providing programming for generations of low-income youth, adults, and senior citizens. We offer direct services, including afterschool & youth mentorship programming, job training & placement, elder care services, and social services such as citizenship & housing services. Requirements Chinese Mutual Aid Association is seeking a Youth Program Coordinator to provide programmatic support for CMAA's Youth Department. The Youth Program Coordinator will assist in facilitating services for CMAA's mentoring programs, Young Women Warriors & Young Men Making Moves, as well as provide daily support for CMAA's Diverse Young Leaders after-school program. This includes program coordination, administration, and providing direct instruction to after-school students. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, focused, and committed to serving immigrant-origin and BIPOC youth. They will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse classroom of children. This position is an excellent opportunity to learn about and support under-resourced communities and to contribute to a high-energy team dedicated to supporting Uptown's immigrant, refugee, and BIPOC youth. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Provide direct client support for CMAA's Diverse Young Leaders after-school and summer camp programs.

  • Lead daily classroom instruction.
  • Develop a curriculum for academic instruction and enrichment activities.
  • Support positive development of youth participants.
Coordinate programming for CMAA's Young Women Warriors teen mentoring program.
  • Partner with mentees and mentors to schedule and plan program activities.
  • Attend monthly skill development workshops.
  • Support mentors through guidance and training as needed.
Coordinate programming for CMAA's Family Literacy Program
  • Prepare weekly take-home Interactive Literacy Activities for families.
  • Partner with the local library branch to provide library services to families.
  • Provide support during weekly ESL classes for parents.
Provide department support.
  • Support outreach and recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure grant compliance by tracking progress on outcomes and maintaining files.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with CMAA's youth clients and their families.
Other duties as assigned by the Youth Department Manager. Qualifications We're looking for a candidate who has:
  • Relevant experience working with or teaching children/families
  • The ability to work with diverse populations, specifically immigrant and refugee communities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The confidence to manage multiple children at once and resolve conflicts fairly
  • A bachelor's degree or some college education is preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency in another language (specifically Vietnamese or Cantonese) and a valid driver's license with access to a car is a plus, but not required.
