Summary Objective
The goal of this internship is to support the Youth Services staff at Bluffton Branch Library in planning and running the programs for youth. The selected intern will also have the opportunity to participate in outreach events and help with the daily operations of the Library as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
* Assist with Spring programs and related activities as needed, including setup, materials preparation, crowd control, and cleanup.
* Assist patrons in use of public computers, Wi-Fi, and other library technology.
* Assist circulation staff with tasks such as checking in materials, preparing items for transit, and pulling requested items
* Help promote Beaufort County Library services and resources at outreach events and activities
* Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be 16 years or older and currently attending high school or higher education.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
* Must have reliable transportation to arrive for work at scheduled times
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
