DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To work effectively and positively with a treatment team to promote positive growth and healing in the youth and families we serve.Implement positive behavior management and problem solving strategies authorized by Eagle Village and trained therein; always with the goal promoting positive change.Collaborate with treatment team in the development and implementation of programming activities such as life skills, group building, Quests, family weekends, groups counseling, recreation and social group activities for the youth.Ensure supervision and care for the physical, emotional, psychological and social needs/safety of the youth at all times.Participate in the staffing of wilderness experiences 7-day wilderness trips as assigned by Quality Care Supervisor. Adhere to and promote the agency's mission and values in the execution of duties while recognizing and appropriately responding to the cultural differences among those served, as well as, fellow staff members.Assist in facilitating a positive working relationship with all Eagle Village programs, clients, referral sources, surrounding community, and supporters.Timely completion and renewal of certifications of all required trainings ( i.e., Aegis, Crisis Management, CPR/ First Aide/ Blood-borne Pathogens, New Employee Orientation and others trainings as assigned).Working knowledge and adherence to all Eagle Village policies and procedures.Maintain all paperwork responsibilities such as medical logs, communication logs, daily living records, incident reports, etc.Perform any other reasonable related duty as assigned by supervisor or management.Be able to work a flexible schedule, including up nights and weekends.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree in a human services area and one year experience is preferred. Good moral character and emotional stability.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Michigan driver's license and good driving record.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
