- Supervises and monitors youth during recreation, youth movement to and from class and throughout the facility.
- Ensures safety requirements and expectations.
- Counsels youth and documents youth behavior.
- Processes new youth arrivals as needed.
- Conducts conferences with youths' parents, Senior Youth Specialist, probation officer, counselor, and the treatment team.
- Conducts psychoeducational groups using a leadership style that promotes youth participation and positive adolescent development.
- Attends all staff meetings and conferences as required.
- Appropriately manages aggressive student behavior including verbal de-escalation and restraining individuals as needed.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
REQUIREMENTS: - High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience working with at-risk adolescents.
- One-year job related experience working in a treatment oriented, behavior modification or adolescent/juvenile program is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be 21 years of age;
- CPR-First Aid Certification and Handle With Care Certification (Certifications may be obtained after employment begins)
- Valid Texas Driver's License is required.
- Eligible to be certified as a Juvenile Supervision Officer.
- Availability to work 6am -2pm OR 2pm-10pm shift.

SALARY RANGE: $24.09 - $36.14 hourly based on qualifications
This position is eligible for additional compensation based upon state supplement and certification pay. CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
