General Function The YPPI Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the Y Positive Play Initiative (YPPI) - Y on the Fly mobile components for the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit service area by promoting site development, program awareness, youth engagement and ensuring that all children have access to the program. Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
- At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is required (18+ years of age) Associates degree or equivalent college credits preferred (2+ years)
- 2 years of experience working in a recreation setting is preferred, not required
- Experiences in administration, youth supervision, program planning is preferred, not required
- Completion of CPR & First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, etc. within 30 days of hire
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Organizes meals and materials according to site-specific preferences
- Maintains organization and cleanliness inside the delivery vehicle and production facility
- Collects, checks, and verifies records.
- Pickup / receive occasional orders from our suppliers
- Maintain excellent communication with YPPI site team and Program Supervisor, participants/parents, site partners and volunteers.
- Assists with delivery of supplies to designated sites inclusive of sports equipment/kits and healthy snack and beverages
- Serves and trains additional staff, interns or volunteers as requested
- Abides by all determined program practices and safety requirements and protocols
- Implements programs through standardized processes and procedures that support program quality and impact include of the collection of data for evaluation measures.
- Promotes program and additional resources (via flyers, marketing info, etc.) at mobile sites and with community partners adjacent to mobile sites
- Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor
Abilities & Skills
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs).
