We strive to create a community where every person thrives and every voice matters.Position Overview:East Side Neighborhood Services is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to support our Out-of-School Time (OST) Programs for youth in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will build relationships with youths, facilitate enrichment activities, and provide support for youth development. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily operations (attendance, activities, snacks)
- Support youth development in leadership, self-esteem, and relationships
- Maintain a safe learning environment
- Collaborate with Program Manager on youth progress
- Assist with record-keeping and program evaluation
- Engage with families and local community
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Education, Social Work, or nonprofit settings
- Bilingual in Spanish, Oromo, or Somali (preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to ESNS's organization's mission
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Products
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Bi-lingual in either Spanish, Oromo, or Somali preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations of youth and communities
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Valid MN Driver's License and auto insurance
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Working Conditions:This position operates as a part of our Out-of-School Time (OST) Programs located at either our Luxton Learners campus or the Mulberry Junction campus. Our Luxton Learners program functions within the Luxton Park and Recreation Center in southeast Minneapolis while Mulberry Junction runs out of the ESNS main office in northeast Minneapolis. OST Program hours are typically Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Work hours for this position are typically Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM with the ability to flex hours on Friday as needed. This position offers a hybrid opportunity to work from home one day a week. Must have ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and utilize various office equipment (e.g., computer, printer, phone, and calculator) on a continual basis. - Part-time, 20 hours per week
