We ship great food and gifts all across America, everything from bread and cheese to cured ham and tinned fish. The holidays at Zingerman's Mail Order are exciting, fast-paced and a lot of fun. We grow from a crew of 100 to a swarm of nearly 500. People come to work here from all walks of life. Moms, dads, students, retirees, landscapers, dancers. Some people are in between jobs. For some folks, this is their first job. Some join us for the season, while others may wish to seek long-term opportunities. Every reason for joining is welcomed-no prior experience required. Many of our current team members began their journey with us as part of our holiday crew! We'd love for you to join us! What kinds of things do you do in this job? There are a lot of jobs in the warehouse.
- There are pickers who select the items.
- There are route runners who roam the warehouse to bring pickers the food, like olive oil and coffee cakes.
- There are checkers, the detail-oriented people (you know who you are!), who check box contents to make sure they are perfect.
- There are packers who perform feats of three dimensional Tetris to fit the foods in the box.
- There are the stackers who fill the truck with boxes, playing more 3D Tetris (sorry if we're dating ourselves!).
- There are cheesemongers who cut great big wheels of cheese into beautiful little wedges.
- Plus many, many more.
What is the pay & shift times? Night Shift (begins 12/1), $17 per hour, 8PM-6AM Are there any other perks? Absolutely. All training is paid. All breaks are paid. If you're working a longer shift and there's a lunch or dinner break, we make homemade meals and serve them for free. (They're delicious.) You get a 50% discount on nearly everything we sell and a 10% discount at other Zingerman's businesses like Zingerman's Deli, Bakehouse, Roadhouse, and Miss Kim. Discounts at local businesses like Literati, Downtown Home and Garden, and more. Where is this job? Zingerman's warehouse is located at 610 Phoenix Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108 . We are on the AATA bus route . What does it take to get hired in our Warehouse? We don't have many hoops to jump through for this job. There's just one: you'll need to be able to work at least three shifts per week up to and including the week before Christmas. The details are below. You can pick your start date. (Don't worry if this all sounds complicated. When you come in, we'll talk through it together.) Night shift is 8pm-6am. You'll need to be able to work at least three shifts per week. We work 6 or 7 days per week. We welcome people who seek a full time load of shifts and even want overtime. What kinds of skills are required for this job? There's absolutely no experience necessary to work with us. But there are a couple of things you'll need to have to make this job work:
- The strength and endurance to lift 20 pounds during your shift while bending and being on your feet.
- English proficiency.
Are there any other requirements? You must be 18 years of age & eligible to work in the United States to join our holiday crew. Will I get full time work? We aim to. Our schedule is based on the number of orders. It will flex as our order volume increases before the holidays. When does this job begin and end? Work starts on December 1st. It ends on or around December 23rd, 2024. You can pick your start date. Can I apply for full time work after the job ends? Yes, we encourage it. We'll have a limited number of part time positions at Mail Order plus part & full time positions elsewhere in the Zingerman's Community of Business after the job ends.
