Description:
General Responsibilities:
The Press Tech Zone Leader will oversee the operation of all presses and support equipment within their designated zone. This includes minimizing downtime related to die set-up and changeover processes, maintaining and improving Standardized Work Instructions, and ensuring dies are staged according to the schedule.
Specific Duties:
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions and report any safety risks immediately.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards, including personal protective equipment requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair dies to maintain and improve machine uptime.
- Program, optimize, and troubleshoot electrical servo systems and Smart Pac's.
- Create and maintain staging areas for dies, and provide technical support and training.
- Use the Plex system to monitor requirements, implement work schedules, and report production.
- Coach new operators on part quality and proper scrap tagging and labeling.
- Perform duties and assist co-workers, including roles such as Automatic Press Operator, Coil Tech, and Hilo Driver.
- Assist with first, last piece, and end-of-run inspections.
- Conduct end-of-shift inventories of required tools and equipment at each press.
- Participate in continuous improvement and waste reduction activities.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Communicate effectively with all team members.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
- Equivalent to a high school education.
- Leadership and problem-solving training required.
Experience:
- Minimum three years of die setting experience.
- Ability to stamping presses and associated support equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds periodically and 30 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
Skills:
- Ability to prioritize and stage specific jobs, ensure adherence to set-up procedures, and develop process improvements.
- Strong communication and interface skills with Operators and Leaders.
- High mental and visual demand, with the ability to critique work visually and train through direction.
Compensation details: 25.25-25.25 Hourly Wage
