Questions before applying? 785-###-####Summary:The Zoning Administrator/Building Official is a position who oversees and enforces tribal building codes, zoning laws and ordinances/regulations. Their goal is to ensure new construction and renovations maintain a level of quality that keeps PBPN safe and protects the environment. This position will enforce tribal laws/codes and regulations related to new construction and remodel of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings; public nuisances, building permits, zoning, and land use.Minimum Requirements:Driving: Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and be insurable with the Nation's insuranceExperience: Five years of similar or related experience. 3+ years of experience with commercial and residential building code compliance. Must possess International Code Council certification credentials within the first 12 months of hire. Must possess National Fire Protection Association Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner certification within the first 12 months of hire.Education: Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study in Construction, Public Administration, or Sustainability Studies, or related field.Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
