We are seeking an experienced IBM ZVM/ZLINUX Engineer to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and support of IBM ZVM and ZLINUX systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in configuring and managing ZLINUX applications and systems, as well as a deep understanding of the IBM ZVM/ZLINUX environment. The role requires a proactive, solution-oriented approach to troubleshooting and maintaining high-performance systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM ZVM and ZLINUX systems.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure system security and performance.
- Manage and support ZLINUX applications, ensuring proper configuration and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ZVM and ZLINUX environments.
- Monitor system performance and capacity to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure the integration of ZLINUX applications with other systems and platforms.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users regarding ZVM/ZLINUX-related issues.
- Document system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation for ZVM/ZLINUX environments.
- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to enhance system stability and performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM ZVM and ZLINUX systems.
- Strong understanding of ZLINUX application configurations and system management.
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based operating systems and administration in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in system troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts related to IBM ZVM/ZLINUX.
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other IBM Z system products and environments.
- Relevant certifications in IBM ZVM/ZLINUX or related technologies.
